GROGS

The Grogs are an internationally acclaimed puppeteer troupe spearheaded by multi-talented creators/writers/producers Jason Hopley and Jamie Shannon.  These lifelong friends are the masterminds behind several hit children’s shows including the Gemini-award winning pre-school series, “Nanalan” (CBC & PBS); the off-beat teen puppet series, “Mr. Meaty” (Nickelodeon); the fish-out-of-water animated series, “Weird Years” (YTV); and “Ooh & Aah”, two adorable puppet monkeys that host Disney’s Playhouse programming block worldwide.

The Grogs’ success stems from their unique ability to create an improvised atmosphere with characters that have distinctive lifelike qualities.  Based in Toronto, Ontario, The Grogs’ creature shop is a hub of creativity where a crew of puppet  builders, sculptors, painters, seamstresses and costumer designers create one-of-a-kind puppets, mascots, props and sets.

Inspired by the Jim Henson group, the Grogs’ continue to bring worldwide attention to their craft while setting the bar high for quality children’s entertainment.
